Examples of Procedures for Ongoing Monitoring Include:
• Use data to provide objective information for decision-making.
• SW-PBS Leadership Team uses data to lead staff in progress monitoring.
• Big 5 Reports are generated and reviewed monthly (by average number of referrals per day per month, location, problem behaviors, time and students involved).
• Multiple data sources are used for mapping of resources and action planning.
• Use data to identify students needing Tier 2 and/or Tier 3 supports.
• Progress toward meeting goals is regularly celebrated.
The Procedures for Ongoing Monitoring section of the Coaches Corner has two distinct sections: Office Discipline Referrals (ODR) provides information regarding collecting, entering and generating reports of ODR data, and PBS Surveys which provides infromation regarding the suggested assessments used and schedule for ongoing monitoring of the fidelity of the SW-PBS implementation and resulting outcomes.
The attached MO SW-PBS data collection schedule outlines what data is due and on what dates for the 2011-2012 year. Please read these documents closely and thoroughly. Decisions regarding what data to collect are based on national and state recommendations as well as empirical research. It is our goal to assist all schools and districts to use data for productive decision-making. If you have any questions, please contact your regional SW-PBS consultant.
ODRs are a primary measure of how schools / students are “doing” behaviorally. Learn more about how to collect ODRs, how to enter ODR data into a report generating program, and finally how to analyze ODRs for school-wide intervention planning.
MO SW-PBS school teams are asked to use a variety of survey instruments to gain mission critical information. Learn the what, when, how and why of the instrutments used. Resources for analyzing PBIS Assessment results include a 7 Essential Component Survey Item Analysis and Data-Based Review Templates. These tools help school based teams move from analysis of information from a variety of survey sources to deciding on future actionable steps.
The MO SW-PBS School Data Profile is intended to assist SW-PBS schools in compiling basic building level data about structure and performance. It contains data tables that provide information about faculty/staffing, demographics, student performance, attendance, student assistance referrals and discipline. Schools will enter 5 of 14 data fields while the remaining 9 fields will be populated from MO CORE data. Additionally PBS Survey data results and MSIP Advanced Questionnaire data will also be integrated with the school entered and DESE warehouse data to provide a single source for eventual report generation within the SDP.
