Schoolwide Positive Behavior Support (SW-PBS) is a proactive approach to put behavioral/social skills strategies in place for all students while also building in support for those at risk for and/or those who receive special education services.

The mission of Missouri Schoolwide Positive Behavior Support (MO SW-PBS) is to assist schools and districts in establishing and maintaining school environments where the social culture and behavioral supports needed to be an effective learning environment is in place for all students.

Missouri Schoolwide Positive Behavior Support 2010-2011 Annual Report

Read the story of the systematic and collaborative work of the MO SW-PBS statewide team during the 2010-2011 school year. This work, which took place across the state of Missouri, included over 590 schools that each established a common purpose to improve their schoolwide climate and culture to support the academic and behavioral success of 180,000 Missouri students.

MO SW-PBS Recognition Application Program

In 2010-2011 240 schools received recognition for implementation of Schoolwide Positive Behavior Support (SW-PBS) with fidelity at the Bronze Silver and Gold levels. See which schools in your region met the rigorous criteria for status as an exemplary SW-PBS school in 2010-2011.

Recognition Application criteria for the 2011-2012 school year are now available. Learn just what it takes to be a school recognized for implementing SW-PBS with fidelity in Missouri.

MO SW-PBS participating schools are encouraged to complete activities outlined in the Recognition Program Application process as a way to monitor and celebrate their progress in development and implementation of a schoolwide initiative whose goal is to improve the behavioral and academic success of all students. 

MO SW-PBS New School Application and Returning School Reconfirmation

Schools considering participation in the MO SW-PBS process are invited to attend Administrative Overviews at their Regional Professional Development Center and to have an overview session presented at their school. Learn more about how to apply for initial MO SW-PBS participation,

Returning schools are asked to recommit annually to their participation in the MO SW-PBS process for school improvement.

3rd Annual MO SW-PBS Early Childhood Summit: February 22nd 10:00AM - 3:00PM at the Nixa Early Childhood Learning Center, This event is free, please register through the Southwest RPDC website.

Missouri Schoolwide Positive Behavior Support Summer Institute 2012 will be held June 18-20 at Tan-Tar-A. More details to come, but mark your calendars now!
