Brief Biography

Deb Childs, M. Ed., Tier 2 consultant for St. Louis and Northeast, comes to us from UMSL where she taught for the past five years in the special education department.  While at UMSL, she worked with area schools in SW-PBS development.  Prior to that, she lived in Ohio where she was assistant principal for a junior high.  Other experience includes; special education coordinator for a vocational school, and special education teacher for a variety of disabilities at the secondary level.  Most of her classroom experience was with students with behavior challenges.  This is her 32ndyear in education.

Deb hopes to complete her doctorate degree in May 2011.  Her research is in the area of increasing generalization of social skills through the use of self-monitoring. 

Deb lives with her husband in St Charles, MO.  Her older daughter graduated from Missouri State and is working in the St. Louis area.  Her younger daughter is a freshman at Mizzou.
